There’s something impossible to miss about an 18ft high mammoth.
I didn’t notice it until I started to put this all together, but the piece has a website attached: www.mammothworldwide.com. On the site was a 2 minute video of the artists doing this piece, from beginning to end, done in the dead of night under the basking light of The Stratosphere Hotel. Clearly a publicity stunt, but that just adds “performance art” to the list of different mediums the artists are composing in.
A little research later, and I’ve come to find out that Mammoth Unltd was a clothing company in Las Vegas with some pretty interesting designs. This is a great example of how art influences people: before this shot, I had no idea who this company is. Now, I’m an interested and invested party.
Not bad for a bit of “graffiti.”
